Delivery Protocol | Covid-19 Crisis

Dear Consignee, 

as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are committed to activating as many precautionary measures as possible in order to reduce its spread. All the measures outlined below concern our Delivery Protocol; hence, we would like to ask politely for your full cooperation and compliance so that we can protect your and our staff´s health. 

In summary:  

  • No delivery shall be carried out indoors (houses, shared spaces, offices, companies, public services etc.). All deliveries will be strictly performed in the exterior space of every building. We recommend you keep a 2 - meter distance from the delivery driver during the transaction. In the case where we cannot ensure your full cooperation for all the above, the delivery will not be carried out and the consignment shall be returned to our premises until further notice.   
  • In the case of a Cash on Delivery request, we urge you to prefer the option of electronical payment. All our drivers are supplied with Mobile POS devices. The same applies in the case of a transaction involving any kind of payment for delivery fees (shipper of consignee charge). If that is not possible, we recommend that you bear the exact amount of cash required in order to avoid contaminated bills or coins.   
  • All our drivers are obliged to wear a mask and protective gloves. If you witness  that our driver is not complying to the necessary precautionary measures, stated in this message, you are kindly requested to inform us by phone at +30 2117101466 or by email at info@bizcourier.eu.  
  • In case you have contracted Covid-19 or you have reasonable suspicions that you may have, please contact us by phone at +30 2117101466 or by email at info@bizcourier.eu in order for us to arrange a special and safe way of delivering your consignment to you as soon as possible.  

Finally, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused by this special and necessary protocol, since our main goal is to reduce the spread of Covid-19, protect our staff and provide a seamless service to everyone who is self-isolated and in need of our support.

Shipment tracking

The only info you need in order to find a shipment is the Tracking Number printed on the upper central part of the Waybill.

How to properly package

The shipper is in charge and responsible for the safe and resistant packaging of items (see general terms).

To protect the content of your shipment:

    • Make sure the packaging you use ensures its integrity
    • Wrap fragile items with protective materials (air bubbles, styrofoam)
    • Protect sharp items
    • Use the factory package in the case that you wish to send electronic apparatuses
    • Use unbreakable containers or special wooden packaging should you want to send liquids, in order to avoid leakage
    • Use packaging tapes to seal your shipment
    • Protect small items using paper
  • Wrap CDs and DVDs with a protective material or pack them in their case
  • Lastly, use capital and clear letters to write the recipient's address and all information required.
Items not allowed for transportation

In brief, the items not allowed for transportation are:

 
  • Explosives
  • Flammable materials
  • Radioactive materials
  • Corrosive substances 
  • Gases 
  • Narcotics 
  • Poisons 
  • Antiquities 
  • Pieces of art 
  • Perishable foodstuffs 
  • Live animals or animal carcasses
  • Plants
 

In general, it is prohibited to transport items which run the risk, due to their nature or because of their packaging, of being self-destroyed or of destroying other items or items whose handling and transportation is not accepted by ΙATA.

Notes:

To avoid delivery for transportation of such items, the company reserves the right-being also bound to-check the object it undertakes to handle, and even open it.

If the shipper, for whatever reason, submits such items for shipment, the company on verification of their existence reserves the right to handle the case according to its judgment, including immediate discontinuation of transportation, renouncing any further responsibility; charges are not refunded.

The shipper is always solely responsible for any damage possibly affecting persons or other items from a false content declaration.

How to calculate shipment costs

To use the application which calculates costs click here. The calculation tool calculates the cost of Same-day Delivery throughout Attica, deliveries for the following business day and cost for deliveries throughout Greece and abroad.

For any queries you may have our call center and chat line or on hand to calculate or clarify the costs and delivery times, from 09:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday.

What is volumetric charge

The charge of every shipment depends on the combination of size and weight (IATA volumetric calculation). If the volumetric weight of your shipment is bigger than the actual weight of it then the charge of a shipment is based on the volumetric weight. For example big sized packages which are actually very light. 

ΙΑΤΑ volumetric weight is calculated by this formula:

Volumetric weight in kgs = (Length x Width x Height) in cm / 5000.

Remote Regions

Βiz Courier covers geographically all regions in Greece, even in the most remote places.

Areas NOT within Biz network city bounds are characterized as remote. Charging for shipment to these areas is performed in accordance with Biz official tariff list in effect and delivery requires from 1 to 4 working days maximum.

The charge for remote regions starts from 6.90€ for shipments up to 2 kg and every extra kg is charged at 2.80€.

International Deliveries

Biz Global Express and Biz 10 Plus services incur fuel surcharge that changes every month.

There is a VAT surcharge of 24% for worldwide deliveries.

The delivery time for worldwide shipments is indicative and refers mainly to the destination country's Capital and major cities.

Shipments Abroad - Fuel Surcharge

Fuel Surcharge is the average monthly price of fuel for aviation use

according to the

US Gulf Coast

External Link / New Window (USGC), as published by the US Department of Energy.The fuel surcharge varies monthly.

  • For the services Biz Worldwide Express the Fuel Surcharge is equal to 20.75%
  • For the services Biz Global Express & Biz 10 Plus the Fuel Surcharge is equal to 18.50%
